New Names For Dogs - How To Teach

It is relatively easy to teach a dog her new name.

1. Choose your dog's name
2. Get some good treats (such as our dehydrated beef liver)
3. Say the dog's new name, and as soon as the dog responds, give the dog a treat

Keep doing this in different formats.  Say the dog's name from across the room, and when she comes to you, give her a treat.

Soon enough, the dog should respond to her name.

I had a dog once and changed her name back and forth.  I don't think animals care much about their name.  They care about tone of voice and inflection.

Don't be afraid to change your dog's name.  Reward her for being such a good sport about it!
